After graduating with a diploma in health and fitness, I started working in the health food and natural supplement industry. It was during this time that I developed a passion for helping others improve their overall health and mindset through nutrition and a balanced lifestyle. I had the opportunity to meet so many inspiring individuals who had also made incredible changes in their own lives.
Fast forward a year later and I decided to enroll in the Holistic Nutrition program through the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, this is where I earned the Registered Holistic Nutritionist (R.H.N) designation. The school became a supportive environment where I was surrounded by likeminded individuals who were also fuelled by passion (and plenty of green smoothies).
After graduating (again.. #foreverstudent) I continued to work in the natural food and supplement industry, but I never felt like it was quite the right fit. I really wanted to work one-on-one with clients, especially women. Nursing wasn’t for me and neither was dietetics. All of this brought me to Midwifery, which I really admired for its holistic approach to women centred care. I still love all things nutrition and food, which is for the most part what you’ll see here.
I’ve come to learn that putting a title on the way I eat just doesn’t work for me. I simply eat what my body needs, and I avoid the things that don’t make me feel good. I eat awesome food that’s produced by people I trust, and that leaves me feeling happy and healthy. But hey, that doesn’t mean that I don’t eat cake every once in awhile! What you’ll find here are recipes to make your tummies smile and any thoughts I may have along the way!
